freepass: rumah akar

if you ever heard about the fascinating building called 'rumah akar' at kota tua area, i recommend you to visit it and prove it. it's an old building behind the wayang museum. the building has no roof for so long, so the trees and roots grow naturally and become the interior decoration. this place very awesome, magnifique and full of imagination. a bit creepy though, but strangely beautiful at the same time. no wonder a lot of people use it for photography purposes. seems the owner make it as a money maker too, i heard they will charge you Rp 100.000 - Rp 160.000/hour if you want to take photo inside.

i consider we were having a lucky afternoon that day. i coincidentally met my acquaintance outside the building and the custodian of the building was his friend. i believe you can guess the rest of the story, we got a hall pass to entering the building and capturing some photos inside it, for free.

intrigued? if you wanna make a contact with the custodian, just google them by rumah akar kota tua. they also have a facebook account. just make sure you won't miss it when you visit kota tua area.
